
Nordine Benchorf was born in Belfort, France. He studied dance at the Contemporary Dance Studio of Marie Do Haas , Compagnie de L’Instant (1982–1984). He followed his studies at the CNDC Angers (France) between 1984-1986. From 1987 he collaborates an interpreter with significant companies of Europe (Rosas, Needcompany, Ultima Vez, C. Sagna). He partecipated on video projects of Odile Duboc, Peter Greenaway, A.T. Dekeersmaeker, Wim Vandekeybus, Tom Lenaerts. Nordine Benchorf has experience as a teacher of modern dance for contemporary dance compagnies as Ultima Vez, ROSAS (repertoire) Needcompany, Thiery Smiths company, P.A.R.T.S classes of ROSAS repertoire, Opera de Lyon repetitor for ROSAS repertoire ‘Die Grosse Fugue’. He also gives classes and workshop at the Institut del Teatre (Barcelona), CDC (Toulouse) workshop, Hogeschool voor Dans (Antwerpen), RITS, at Comédie de St.Etienne.
His dance classes start with a stretching and focusing on the mobility and flexebilty of the spine. He exercises the strengtheting of the the body center and finding a larger freedom of movement. He searches in his classes the natural ease of mouvement and actions also in their fast or slow execution. Works a lot on deplacing the body on the ground, the musculare elasticity and tonus, as well as how to divide your energy in endurance and repetition.
