it is our pleasure to inform you on news regarding DEJA DONNE and its activities in 2010.

In April 2010 Simone Sandroni premiered two choreographic portraits P.S. PORTRAIT SERIES on Bavarian State Ballet members Norbert Graf and Isabelle Severs. Both pieces were presented with great succes in Munich Opera House as a part of the cyclus Impossible Encyclopedia, and later, at the Gala evening of BalettFestwoche 2010 (P.S. Norbert Graf), and will stay in the repertory of the company also in the theatre season 2010/2011.

In May a new portrait on DEJA DONNE company member Martina La Ragione was created. The premiere of P.S. MARTINA LA RAGIONE will take place at Autunno Danza Festival in Cagliari on 8th October 2010.

In August 2010 DEJA DONNE starts a large, one year long research project with 9 dancers entitled REDISCOVERING CONCEPTS, which involves fully both, Italian and German productions (DEJA DONNE, Kulturbüro S. Schulte) as well as two universities (Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich and Università degli Studi in Perugia). The informal showings of the process will be presented in October /November 2010, after the residency in Munich. The premiere of the final performance will take place in Muffathalle Munich on 8th and 9th of June 2011.

Rediscovering Concepts
Simone Sandroni and Lenka Flory have been invited by the National Theatre in Prague to direct Donizetti’s Elisir d’Amore and to create scenography and costumes for the opera. The premiere will take place at the National Theatre Prague on 15th December 2010.

Dear dancers and colleagues,

we are glad to be back with some news on DEJA DONNE and to share with you a short preview on this years activities.

On 13th and 14th of March "Piotr and the Stars of Tut" will be performed in Kuenstlerhaus Mousonturm Frankfurt with Pietro Micci, Simone Sandroni and Grete Michel.

In April and May DEJA DONNE will hold auditions for female dancers (at the top of the page). The deadline is 31st March 2009.

In July Lenka Flory will develop a choreography for the school project entitled "Anna tanzt - Anna wird alt" under the direction of the Bayerisches Staatsballett in Munich. "Anna tanzt - Anna wird alt" is created together with 100 children and youth of the St. Anna Gymnasium and Samuel Heinicke-Realschule in Munich. The final performance will be presented on 29th and 30th of July in Muffathalle.

DEJA DONNE will hold "A Glimpse of Hope" rehearsals during the month of August, and will start the new season in Denmark on 29th and 30th of August 2009.

Simone Sandroni is invited to create a new work on a company Tanztheater Bielefeld in September and October. The piece "The Tempting Innocence" will be premiered in Theater Bielefeld on 17th October 2009, and will be included in the dance season 2009/2010 of the theatre.

Dear coleagues and friends,

We are pleased to inform you that the company DEJA DONNE started the national and international tour of A GLIMPSE OF HOPE. The premiere took place in Tanzhaus Düsseldorf on 18th and 19th of September 2008. After a tour in Germany and Italy DEJA DONNE performs in Brasil now, taking a part at Panorama Festival in Rio de Janeiro and in Sao Goncalo. Please find enclosed two links, where you can see – a very short extract of the show, and – a 'behind the scenes' of A GLIMPSE OF HOPE. Both films are made by an american filmmaker Dutch Rall.

CALENDAR OF PERFORMANCES 2008/2009

Dear colleagues,

we are happy to inform you that DEJA DONNE’s application for regular yearly funding has been accepted by Italian Ministry of Culture. Since 2008 DEJA DONNE is funded for its annual activities at home as well as for its international touring.

The performance All the Stories You Have Been Telling Me, created by Déjà Donné for Andee Scott, and presented at Long Centre for the Arts in Austin, Texas/USA, in April 2008, received an Award from Austin Critics Table for Outstanding Dance Concert.

Two month ago DEJA DONNE has started the creation of a new performance entitled A GLIMPSE OF HOPE. It is being created in Italy and Germany for four women performers in co-production with Tanzhaus Düsseldorf, Theater im Pfalzbau Ludwigshafen, DANCE Festival Munich, and in partnership with Region of Umbria/Italy and Nationales Performance Netz/Germany. The work will premiere in Tanzhaus Düsseldorf on 18th and 19th of September 2008.

On April 12th and 13th Simone Sandroni premiered a piece created
for 14 dancers of the Bayerisches Staatsballett entitled “Cambio d’Abito”
in the Munich Opera House.

On April 30th and May 2nd Lenka Flory premiered a commissioned work
for Andee Scott's "Reconstruction of Self"; part of the Fuse Box Festival
at he Long Center for the Performing Arts in Austin, Texas.

On May 16th the DEJA DONNE’s 2007 comission entitled “In Between” for
the young Iztok Kovac’s EnKnapGroup was presented at IETM meeting in Ljubljana.

On July 5th and 6th DEJA DONNE presented a site-specific project “Windows”
created for the city of Bath/UK as a part of the Big Dance Bath 2008.
