Dear colleagues,
With wishes of a happy year 2008 we send you this short note on DEJA DONNE’s activities.
Since July 07 DEJA DONNE has taken part in a new government project focused on contemporary performing arts in Italy, and represents dance in the Region of Umbria for the years 2007-2009.
DEJA DONNE has concluded a number of projects in Autumn 07, among which are:
a commission by the Region of Umbria, a site specific international project “Margine Buio”, for Alberto Burri Museum and Festival delle Nazioni in Citta’ di Castello.
a solo performance commission by Andee Scott/Texas entitled “All the stories you have been telling me” in collaboration with filmmaker Barbara Schröer.
a creation for EN-KNAP GROUP, formed by a young international team of dancers this year in Ljubljana, entitled “In Between”, premiered in Stara Elektrarna in November 07.
a carte blanche with Mal Pelo and L’animal a l’esquena in Celrà/Spain for a trio by Simone Sandroni, Pep Ramis and Jordi Casanovas. Presented at Temporada Alta international festival in Girona.
a series of performances in Italy and abroad, and educational projects with schools in Umbria.
DEJA DONNE launches a series of projects for 2008:
- February/March/April
- Simone Sandroni will set up a choreography on Bayerisches Staatsballet in Munich. The opening night will take place in Munich Opera on 12th and 13th April. This performance will be a triple bill by SCHLÄPFER / VAN MANEN / SANDRONI.
- June/July
- a commission for 6 dancers by the city of Bath for the creation of a site-specific project in Bath/UK.
- July/August
- a new creation of the company – the second part of a trilogy Happiness is Only a Question of Habit entiltled A GLIMPSE OF HOPE – an international co-production.
- September
- an Italian tour of A Glimpse of Hope
- October
- an international tour of A Glimpse of Hope and a series of workshops with Umbrian elementary schools based on the introduction of contemporary forms of dance and theatre to youth audiences.
- November/December
- an international tour of A Glimpse of Hope
